Today, the UE Alma Mater statue, affectionately known as “Lualhati,” serves as the University's most enduring symbol, or as UE Alumnus Arsenio D. Narciso stated: “a spiritual force among the alumni [that] may act as a spark which will kindle a more lasting feeling of affection for their Alma Mater.”

The bronze statue, made by National Artist Guillermo Tolentino, was then located in front of the Dalupan Building [now the Santiago F. Dela Cruz (SFC) Building], facing Azcarraga Street (now Claro M. Recto Avenue).

Lualhati was sculpted in bronze by well-known artist Guillermo Tolentino, and has Miss Ofelia S. Salas as his model. Lualhati's first unveiling was on January 27, 1957 with no less by then First Lady Luz Banzon Magsaysay gracing the occasion.

The UE Red Warriors are the collegiate men's basketball team of the University of the East, which play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere sports league in the country.   

The logo of the University of the East (UE) consists of a shield with an open book, a torch, and a quill. The open book signifies knowledge, the torch represents enlightenment, and the quill symbolizes scholarly pursuits. The shield, a common element in university logos, often signifies protection and academic integrity.
