Mental Health Stepped Care Model
The University of the East Mental Health Stepped Care Model complements the Total Student Care Program of the University by providing a handy guide to a variety of support and resources for students to build resilience and thrive in their lives. UE programs and services are identified so that students can create a foundation of resilience, demonstrate self-awareness, and seek out appropriate resources when needed.
Students deal with a lot of challenges related to academics, family, social, personal, and other issues. This UE Mental Health Stepped Care Model aims to encourage students to seek out help through the available resources that support their overall well-being. This empowers the students to participate actively in various care options and programs specified in each step. It also promotes the services of various departments and other stakeholders vital to the holistic development of the students.
Students have free access to the most appropriate services for their mental health needs at any given time and as their needs change. They may step up and down to different levels of care presented in the model as they journey towards healing and recovery.
