Good Luck! Mrs. DePaul
Fort Washington Elementary kicks off our first One Book, One School initiative! In school this month, every classroom teacher will be reading Frindle by Andrew Clements to their classes. In reading aloud, we will be creating a community event that combines the themes of friendship, creativity, and appreciation all under the universal idea that “Words are Power”!
Reading aloud to children is not only a reliable way to promote literacy, but it establishes reading as a relationship activity with you and your child. The message children get is clear...spending time together is important. Reading together is important. So, choose a book with your children, and get reading together at home this month! Happy Reading! Mrs. DePaul

8. On page 61, Mrs. Granger says, “There is no reason to invent a new and useless word.” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?
9. What does the author mean when he says that being a hero has a price? Can you think of a character in another book that faces this same dilemma? Can you think of a “hero” in your life or in the world that must pay a price?
