The mission of the Private Markets Club is to provide University of Delaware students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of venture capital and the broader private investment landscape, including private equity, alternative investments, and real estate. The Club develops both technical skills such as valuation, financial modeling, Excel, and Bloomberg, and essential soft skills including communication, networking, and pitching. Through case competitions, speaker events, and direct engagement with industry professionals, members gain exposure to real private investment firms and practical applications of classroom concepts. By fostering a collaborative, driven community, the Private Markets Club prepares students to think critically, build strong professional networks, and compete confidently for careers in private markets.
The Private Markets Club consists of ~35 members and is led by the executive board, which includes a President, Vice President, Director of Events, Head of Recruitment, and Head of Research. Some responsibilities of the executive board include organizing club meetings, spearheading recruitment, planning case studies, hosting guest speaker events, providing education to members, and much more. The club is advised by Professor Fei Xie from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics Department of Finance.
