• [10/14/2025] OTEC Talks – Pavement Scanning SfM Project:

 Leveraging vision sensing and Structure-from-Motion (SfM) to create cost-effective 3D roadway models. Presented by Alexandar Chattos and Qingyu Ren.

• Ongoing Project — $1.41M Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation–Funded Research

 Led by Dr. Hui “Jack” Wang, Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, this collaborative project with Case Western Reserve University, the University of      Cincinnati, VigiLife, and Ulliman Schutte Construction is developing an audiovisual system to improve situational awareness and safety in roadway construction work zones. 

• [04/13–04/15/2026] National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) – Richmond, Virginia

Undergraduate researchers Alexander Chattos and Nicholas Wehrman will be submitting abstracts to present at NCUR 2026. The conference provides opportunities to        showcase research, network with a national community, and engage in sessions for faculty and mentors. Abstract submission deadline: December 5, 2025. Reviewer volunteer deadline: November 14, 2025.

Proposal preparation by Alexander Chattos, Kiran, Zehna, and Qingyu. Submission deadline: September 29, 2026. 

• [03/15–03/19/2026] AMPP Annual Conference + Expo – Houston, Texas

Students Alexander Chattos , Kiranmayee Madhusudhan, and Qingyu Ren will be submitting poster abstracts for AMPP 2026. The conference brings together materials protection experts, industry leaders, and innovators for 600+ hours of technical content, a dynamic exhibit hall, and global networking opportunities.
