Greetings Racers! Welcome to your AWS DeepRacer Scholarship Challenge Slack Workspace! This is YOUR place to connect with fellow racers, ask questions, get feedback, and give (as well as receive!) lots of support & motivation. Your AWS DeepRacer Challenge course card is now accessible in your classroom and we hope you are as anxious to get started as we are!

Where do I begin?

Attend our LIVE ORIENTATION on Zoom tomorrow, Friday, August 2. This event is for ALL racers no matter your background or experience. We’ll lay out the entire Challenge so you’ll know what to expect and what you need to do to win a full scholarship to the Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program. Two special guests will be joining us to share their insights and advice.

You probably have some burning questions so to address them, we are hosting a series of AMAs (Ask Me Anything) events here in Slack. Simply click the #ama-sessions link under “Channels” to join during one of these times:

Session #2 - Wednesday, August 7 @ 2 PM PDT || 3 PM EST || 9 PM GMT

Helpful Slack Tips

Whether you’re new to Slack or have participated in one of our Scholarship workspaces before, following these tips will help you get quickly acclimated and help you make the most of your time here.

• Familiarize yourself with our Slack channels and the purpose of each. Posting in the right channel will get you the speediest reply.
• Remember to reply in thread when responding to a comment. This will help keep the conversations organized and easier to follow.
• Please respect this workspace by abiding by our Community Code of Conduct
• If some of the above Slack terminology sounds like a foreign language to you, then check out our handy “How to Use Slack” page in this AWS DeepRacer site (This site will soon become soon become your *LIFELINE* so be sure to bookmark it!)
• Slack will be CRAZY :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: the first few days as everyone settles in. Not to worry! This is totally normal and we promise that activity will simmer down to a manageable pace by the end of next week.
