Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. in conjunction with the Solidaridad, Inspiracion, y Amistad Community Foundation, Inc. is proud to award the ExcelenSIA scholarship to help with the educational cost of college. Applicants must be a Latina or Latino high school junior or senior. or a student advancing to an accredited 2 or 4 yr academic institute or vocational training. Candidates must also: be a community Community member that demonstrates community involvement, a dedication to build and serve through service and an appreciation of cultural diversity.

The Annual Memorial Scholarship Program is designed to assist outstanding students with the cost of this education in recognition of students’ hard work and their interest in pursuing higher education. Scholarships are awarded on academic merit, teachers’ references, an original essay, awards and recognition, and extracurricular and community service activities.

Releasing art into the world involves overcoming fear and self-doubt. Those applying must plan to attend college during the fall semester of the year they apply. Additionally, students must attach a letter of acceptance from the college they intend to attend, as well as a recommendation letter from a teacher, mentor, or employer.
