What is TMCSC?
Thurgood Marshall College Student Council (TMCSC) is the representative student government of Thurgood Marshall College (TMC). TMCSC is responsible for advocating for TMC student interests in regards to college, campus, and community issues. We are also responsible for allocating funds, which we receive from your quarterly student fees, towards our programming alongside other Marshall and campus-wide organizations.
Our mission is to help create a welcoming, positive, inclusive, and celebratory atmosphere on Thurgood Marshall campus as well as beyond through our collaborations! We seek to uphold our history as both a college and a council as one of student advocacy and intersectional alliances.
We regularly support, fund, and volunteer for student projects and events, so be sure to keep up with our events and attend through our Instagram, Marshall Memos, and our Google Calendar!
TMCSC is based on the following core values:
Representation, Advocacy, Community, and Transparency.
What does this entail?
→ Advocating for TMC student interests regarding college, campus, and community issues.
→ Consistently engaging with the TMC student body to receive and address relevant, pressing student issues, concerns, and opinions.
→ Promoting the involvement of TMCSC in college and campus-wide issues through communication with professional staff and ASUCSD.
→ Working in conjunction with relevant entities and stakeholders to ensure the representation of TMC on boards, organizations, and auxiliaries deemed important to the TMC community.
