Global Diversity Awareness Month

October is Global Diversity Awareness Month when we celebrate and promote diversity in all its forms: race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, and more. The primary goal of Global Diversity Awareness Month is to increase awareness and understanding of the various dimensions of diversity and to foster inclusivity and tolerance in society and organizations.

Thurgood Marshall College helps students from all majors become engaged citizens who are committed to serving society and coming from different cultural backgrounds. Developing cultural and social competency - one of the main goals of the college focuses on how to understand and respect similarities and differences among individuals in diverse communities.

The morals of the college are based on Lumumba-Zapata Coalition Demands, which outlined demands for minority representation, student involvement in governance, curricular focus on contemporary social issues, and more.

Celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month by promoting respect for all cultures and embracing the richness of diversity in our global community. It is an opportunity to learn about different backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives that contribute to the tapestry of humanity.
