For the first round of prototyping we used the platform, Notion. We saw that Notion had a great space for design in addition to a collaborative side of the app that other platforms such as Figma could not allow. On the right hand side was the navigation bar and profile that led to specific pages and also a navigable page for the audience to interact with.

A lot of our audience for the prototype stated that they understood the goal and mission of PixelPact as an app and enjoyed the overall look and directness, however many stated that the platform our team used for the prototype was difficult to navigate.
Although Notion had the features and look that we wanted for our app, the interaction and navigability for first time users served to limit our ability to simulate a proper interactive prototype for our audience.
We decided to move to a more user friendly applications that many are familiar with through Figma, Instagram, and Google Sheets. We also prioritized on enhancing the user experience when transitioning from one platform to another. And Lastly, we decided to show more of our prototype than just talking to give the users the fullest experience
Before (on Notion)
After (on Figma) showcasing monthly design challenge
After (on Figma) showcasing projects done by the groups in the past
After gaining critical insight on the first round of prototypes, we decided to use applications that are much more familiar for users such as google sheets, Instagram group chats, and Figma. The Google sheets you see down below provides information on the personas our assigned tester is to emulate, and the QR codes down below leads to the Instagram group chat. The Instagram group chat emulates the chat function where users will be able to talk to each other to set up when-to-meets and communicate. Lastly, to really show our users the full experience, we created all High Fidelity depictions of our prototype to emulate real app experiences.
After our audience worked together on the design challenge of the month through their respective Instagram groupchats, we had them rate their team members on the google sheet to simulate the reviews process.
Although there was overall better responses for our second prototype compared to the first, our testers still had confusion in how to join groups for specific events after creating the profile.
They also mentioned that the layout for the rating/leaderboard could have been a lot better on the testable prototype.
Lastly, similar to our first prototype with Notion, a user said that there is a lot going on in the UI, which is something for future reference to take not of.
The feedback for the second prototype was astoundingly better, with a lot of our feedback stating that it was fun, interactive, and they had a good time. They were able to access everything and be able to interact with the other audience through the "app facilitation".
Overall, the second prototype was more straight forward with more allowance for interaction between the audience members.
