EveryDay Vegan is a business proposal that seeks to address current issues around us. It is an eco-friendly food truck that serves campus population on an electric vehicle. It encourages outside dining for heightened safety measures amidst COVID-19, provides fresh and healthy meals for students and staff tired of dining hall food, and promotes both sustainability and reduces pollution by utilizing electric vehicles.
Students and staff get tired of greasy and unhealthy choices in dining halls. There is too much pollution and carbon footprint with delivery trucks and food transportation to restaurants.
Promote healthier lifestyle of eating
Reduce carbon footprint on the environment
Help small businesses and local clubs
SWOT Analysis-
Strengths are cheaper prices, lower rental fee than renting a permanent location, flexible location to relocate where there are more users, and fast service.
Opportunities include collaborating with local businesses and promoting their food.
Weaknesses include mechanical breakdowns, limited number of sales, and no fixed schedule to serve customers.
Threats include competition, hygiene conscious customers and accidents.
Truck
In the beginning, the vehicle will be a regular truck, but when there is enough sales, it will be upgraded to an electric vehicle. This lessens the strain on the budget and allows customers to be aware of our brand first before going all out.
Volunteers
A large part of making this business work is through student-volunteers interested in business/marketing/communications. They get to participate and help out in the food truck.
Rooftop Garden
We strive to promote healthy, organic meals by growing our own vegetables and fruits on the rooftop of our truck.
Marketing
There will be a website that launches the brand and incorporated into newsletters, emails, and social media accounts from clubs on campus. We will partner with the sustainability club on promotion and gathering volunteers.
Trial Period
During the trial phase, we will grow social media presence by promotion videos, giveaways, and freebies. Customers can receive a free snack if they provide an honest review about our business. There will also be a weekly evaluation of sales and surveys to determine which products are more popular and in demand to make modifications in supply within the food truck.
Post-trial Period
During the post-trial period, we will experiment with introducing new products and gauge how products are doing. Depending on the sales and customer satisfaction, we will seek to expand in 1-2 years for more permanent location opportunities and adding more electric vehicles.
