Our Motivation
Online learning is significantly harder on both instructors and students so we created a method of bridging the gap between online and in-person learners. In our research, not only did we find there to be significant potential side effects of online learning, but in our interview process with students, all of our interviewees said they work better when face-to-face.
We realize that meeting in person is somewhat of an inconvenience nowadays, with work being able to start much quicker due to the cut in time traveling, but that is why GeoGreet focuses on those on campus. Consider the following situation, one in which we the creators have been in many times: Students are in a class together and are struggling to solve a problem, a problem that would be easier to work out face-to-face. They don't want to meet up because either they don't feel comfortable asking where the others live or they don't want to travel.
GeoGreet can take situations like the one described above and remove the complications of meeting up, it creates a bridge to support the interaction between online and in-person learning.
