As an avid reader, the clock was designed with the intent of placing it on a bookshelf. The stack of books design is also symmetrical, so the center of gravity wasn't too of balanced, and not many bolts were necessary to the project. During the manufacturing process, it was necessary to discard the need of eight bolts, instead resorting to using only three.
