Produce a motion platform capable of linear, X-Y motion to simulate friction.
Platform must withstand loads applied during a wear test.
The system should integrate with NuVasive’s existing testing equipment.

A few of the constraints to our design are listed below:
Our system needed to fit within the existing test frame, so a maximum size of 420 x 420 mm.
The motor torque needed to be high enough to produce speeds of roughly 10 cm/s while enduring a load of approximately 5N.
Convenient for a user to set up.
Accommodating the three provided instrument types, so the fixtures could be expanded to multiple instruments.
