We want to raise awareness around issues of data science informing policy, the surveillance state, and the commodification of personal data while teaching about digital tools for professional development. These tools, paired with research data on the concepts of Data Science as well as on the social factors (housing, income, wages, education/job opportunities, etc), will give participants the opportunity to express their findings in a way that provokes social change, engages them with technology, and places them in real situations within their communities
