Compost Engineering Challenge! 

We are pleased to announce that registration is open for the 2nd Annual Compost Engineering Challenge!  

Our mission is to aid in the reduction of food waste-related greenhouse gas emissions through the development of affordable backyard compost systems. Our main goal is to provide compost information and DIY compost system instructions to community members, to alleviate some of the financial and informational barriers surrounding backyard composting. Our secondary goal is to support student engineering and construction projects to empower our students to use their technical and academic skills in environmentally-relevant areas.

The winner of our 2024 Compost Engineering Challenge was the Continuous Flow Vermicomposting System. Congratulations to Anthony on his design!
