The STARS mission is to advance social mobility for transfer, re-entry and independent students by providing transformative higher education experiences. STARS guides students who disproportionately enter higher education through community colleges including those who have experiences with: transfering, returning to school at an older age, military, being parents, foster care, homelessness, incarceration, or family trauma. We offer culturally relevant advising and mentorship programs, and actively remove systemic barriers in order to create access, cultivate belonging, motivate persistence, and nurture wellness.

CalFresh, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is a nutrition program that can help students stretch their monthly budget by as much as $234 per month! CalFresh can provide eligible students with the ability to buy and eat nutritious and healthy foods! Students receive CalFresh benefits by completing their application here for food stamps.
Learning Support Services (LSS) Tutoring
Learning Support Services provides UCSC undergraduate students inclusive tutoring sessions facilitated by peers to build a strong foundation for success. In tutoring sessions, students can expect to create a community of learners. We help students catch-up on material, keep up with material, and excel.
