Where are the best beaches?
Santa Cruz has a ton of amazing beaches, you cannot go wrong. You can probably sign up for a surfing class close to the Dream Inn/Boardwalk area. Our family loves to go to Davenport to avoid the tourists (dog friendly, has caves and great waves)
