Maddie earned her B.S. in Chemistry at the Pennsylvania State University in 2014, conducting undergraduate research in the Bevilacqua Lab. She earned her PhD from the Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry Department at Yale University in 2018, conducting her thesis research in the Breaker Lab. Maddie completed her postdoctoral research, supported by a Jane Coffin Childs Fellowship, in the Kieft Lab located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (2018-2023) then the New York Structural Biology Center (2023-2025).
Interests: hiking with dogs, gardening, knitting, spinning

Ginger earned her B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCSC in 2025. She conducted undergraduate research in the Stone Lab and Lee Lab, and joined the Sherlock Lab in September 2025 as a Junior Specialist.

Jon earned his PhD from the Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology Department at UCSC University in 2015, conducting his thesis research in the Sanford Lab. After a short postdoctoral stint at Stanford, Jon has been fortunate to continue living and working in Santa Cruz in both academic and biotechnology laboratories, joining the Sherlock lab in October 2025.
Interests: traveling, biking, hiking and hanging with my family and dog, Roux

The Sherlock Lab is part of the UCSC Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering (PBSE) and will be accepting rotation students for 2026-2027!
