Getting Here: Use 'UC Santa Cruz McHenry Library' in GPS.Â
Closest airports are San Jose (SJC) and San Francisco (SFO). From Bay Area: BART or Caltrain → San Jose Diridon → bus or ride-hail to Santa Cruz.
Parking: Visitor parking is available in Lot 101 (Hahn Student Services). Request a permit through the department. The Mathematics Department staff will arrange your parking permit electronically through UCSC’s TAPS system. You’ll receive an email confirmation from Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) with your digital permit and parking instructions. No paper permit or kiosk visit is needed.Â
Walking Directions: From Hahn/Lot 101, cross the bridge to McHenry Library. From Quarry Plaza, walk down Steinhart Way.
The Mathematics Department is located in the McHenry Building, adjacent to McHenry Library.
Please note that Steinhart Way is closed to personal vehicles. Visitors arriving by car should drop off at Quarry Plaza or the Bay Tree Campus Store, then walk down Steinhart Way to reach McHenry. The walk is short but somewhat hilly.
An alternate route is from Hahn Student Services / Lot 101, which offers a relatively level walking path. From Hahn, cross the pedestrian bridge and continue straight—keeping to the level or right-hand path until you reach McHenry.
Once you enter the McHenry Building, note that we are not inside the library proper (if you pass through metal detectors, you’ve gone too far).
Enter through the main doors and look immediately to your left for the door marked “North Elevator – Mathematics Offices.”
Take the elevator to the 4th floor, turn right as you exit, and you’ll find the Department Office (Room 4111) at the corner of the two main hallways.
Faculty offices are also located in this area.
