亲眼见证你的脑电波！

资格要求：您必须是普通话或粤语母语者，且年满18周岁。

时长：2小时。

报酬：2小时50美元。

交通补贴：从湾区出发的交通补贴50美元。

概要：我们将记录您阅读英文单词时的脑电活动。您将有机会亲眼见证自己的脑电波！

说明：在您签署知情同意书后，我们将进行脑电图（EEG）记录。您需要佩戴一个内置电极的脑电图帽（类似于泳帽）。我们会在每个电极上涂抹少量凝胶，以建立与头皮的连接。此过程大约需要45分钟。

之后，您将完成实验的主要任务，包括在电脑上阅读英文单词、通过按键做出反应、命名图片以及填写一份关于您语言背景的调查问卷。在完成每项任务之前，我们将提供具体的指导，并根据需要进行练习。

最后，我们将取下帽子，擦掉残留的凝胶。如果您之后想冲洗头发，大楼内也提供淋浴设施。

准备工作：请确保头发干净干燥后再来实验室。请勿使用任何可能妨碍帽子紧贴头皮的造型产品或发型。请休息充足，做好充分准备，以便完成电脑操作。

See your brain waves in action! 

Eligibility Requirements: You must be a native speaker of Mandarin or Cantonese and be 18 years or older.

Duration: 2 hours. 

Compensation: $50 for 2 hours; $10 per referral. 

Travel Compensation: $50 for travel from the Bay Area. 

Abstract: Your brain activity is recorded while you read words in English. You’ll get to see your own brain waves in action! 

Description: After providing informed consent, we will set up for EEG recording. You will be asked to wear an EEG cap (similar to a swim cap) with electrodes embedded in it. We will insert a small amount of gel into each electrode to make a connection with the scalp. This will take approximately 45 minutes. 

Then you will complete the main tasks of the experiment, which include reading words in English on the computer, responding to them with button presses, naming pictures, and filling out a survey about your language background. You will be given specific instructions and practice as needed before each task. 

Finally, we will remove the cap and wipe off any remaining gel. Shower facilities are also available in the building if you would like to rinse your hair afterward. 

Preparation: Please come to the lab with clean, dry hair. Do not wear any hair products or hairstyles that may prevent the cap from sitting next to the scalp. Come to the lab well-rested and prepared to complete computer-based activities.
