Projects
We are a project-focused group, with goals to create concrete and sustainable practices to foster equity in our department and field. We're just getting started, but some of our past and ongoing projects are listed here. So far our projects are focused on changes we can make within our department. In the future we hope to collaborate beyond our department community. If you have ideas for other projects, are interested in collaborating, or just want to be involved, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Department Meetings
As a graduate student group, we plan and host full department meetings to foster community discussions about:
Equitable practices in teaching
Ways to close equity gaps in the classroom and linguistics generally
Equitable field work practices

Graduate Student Support
The transition to graduate school can be a difficult one, and equity gaps in educational settings certainly extend to graduate programs. We hope to ease this transition and make some of the hidden curriculum clear to incoming first years by hosting:
A yearly incoming graduate student orientation
Graduate student advisor speed-chat events
Mixed-year graduate student wellness events
Resource Compilations
As we individually work to employ equitable practices in our classroom and research settings, we believe a streamlined archival process will facilitate sharing what works and ultimately lessen the burden on any one person individually. We are creating and/or restructuring repositories of:

Research and laboratory manuals
General campus resources
