The cohort will meet roughly every other week between October 2024 and May 2025. The meetings will be held in a hybrid mode. There will be two satellite sessions for each meeting, one at UCSC and the other at CSUMB. These sessions will be run in parallel, connected through a common Zoom session.
There will be discussions around applications of data science in different fields.
UCSC Non-senate faculty, lecturers, postdocs, and graduate students will be awarded a stipend based on attendance and participation.
CSUMB faculty (TT and lecturers) and graduate students will be awarded a stipend based on attendance and participation.
Community College faculty will be awarded a stipend based on attendance and participation OR we can work with your institution to offer Flex Credit based on participation.
High School instructors will be awarded a stipend base on attendance and participation.
Satisfy one of the following:
Faculty or instructor at UCSC, CSUMB or a community college in the Monterey Bay Area.
Graduate student at UCSC or CSUMB with interest in data science applications.
High school mathematics instructor from the Monterey Bay Area.
Commitment to participate in the meetings for the 24-25 academic year.
