Ph.D. Candidate at the University of California at Santa Cruz
Welcome! My name is Calvin Munson, and I am a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Raimondi-Carr Lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am a community ecologist who conducts research in coastal marine ecosystems. I also have a passion for teaching data science using R.
My current research focuses on the resilience and recovery of kelp forest ecosystems, with a focus on intra-specific competition and grazing by purple sea urchins. I utilize lab and field experiments, statistical modeling, and qualitative social science methods to conduct my research. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
