I am using TriNetX for this project, a clinical informatics research platform that contains de-identified electronic health records data from almost 120 million patients across 70 health networks in the US. TriNetX has been used by in more than 1200 studies in leading journals, and provides data from some of the largest medical centers in the US.
While it is possible to cite TriNetX as a piece of software, the following article in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association Open provides a summary of the technology that is suitable for citing in a journal article:

Dear Dr. X,
I am a medical student at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, and I recently read your paper on [y] as part of my review of the existing research on [topic]. I am currently working on a study of [specific topic] using TriNetX, a clinical informatics platform that can analyze electronic health records from 118 million patients in the US and 155 million patients globally. My study would expand on your last paper by [...], and would greatly benefit from your expertise as I move towards drafting it as a manuscript.Â
While I know that you are very busy with your clinical work and research, I would be very grateful for a few minutes of your time via Zoom to share my results so far. Do you have any time in the next two weeks to meet and discuss? I'd be happy to send an invite and a Zoom link.
Sincerely,
Medical J. Student,
