About Me
About Me
My name is Gary Qin, and I am a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology at UC Riverside. Before beginning my graduate studies, I received a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Washington. I am co-advised by Dr. Helen Regan and Dr. Kurt Anderson, and my research focus is on freshwater ecology, conservation biology, social-ecological systems, and endangered species. Broadly speaking, I am interested in understanding how land use change and climate change affect the long-term population trends of endangered species. My long-term goal is to teach and mentor the next generation of scientists, educators, and informed citizens.Â

In my free time, I enjoy eating and sharing food with family and friends, going to the gym, shopping, and DJing.
