My name is Gary Qin, and I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Analysis at Pomona College. I received my Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology at UC Riverside, co-advised by Dr. Helen Regan and Dr. Kurt Anderson. My dissertation is titled "Assessing California's Freshwater Health: Ecosystem Integrity, Services, and Governance",  where I investigated freshwater biodiversity threats, imbalances in ecosystem health and ecosystem service delivery, and perceptions of water governance by water management professionals. 

Before beginning my graduate studies, I received a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Washington. 

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, weight training, reading historical nonfiction, and DJing.
