Dr. Eui Kyung Kim is an assistant professor of school psychology in the School of Education at the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Kim earned her PhD in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology with an emphasis on school psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As the director of the EMPOWER Lab, she collaborates with scholars and community members in the fields of educational and school psychology. Her work aims to develop and disseminate strengths-based, culturally responsive resources to promote resilience and empower underrepresented and minoritized individuals in the K-12 education system and the field of school psychology.

Kevin Han is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He has a Master of Arts in Education (School Psychology) from UCR and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State Long Beach. He has worked with special needs populations extensively and has a passion for supporting underserved communities in the public education school system. His research interests include supporting foster youth and foster parents, and prevention/early intervention in special education. Outside of school, Kevin enjoys hiking, music, volunteering, tacos, sports, serving at church, and waiting for Christmas.

KeAysia Jackson is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in English from Howard University and a Master of Arts in Education (School Psychology) from the University of California, Riverside. She has a passion for advocating for marginalized students who are impacted by systemic issues in the education system, from K-12 through higher education. Her research interests include the Recruitment and Retention of Black School Psychology Students, the Disproportionality of Black Students in Special Education, and School-Based Mental Health Supports. Outside of school, KeAysia enjoys writing, doing any sort of arts and crafts, and getting some sunshine outdoors.

Brittany Cummings-Barkley is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Delaware State University and a Master of Arts in Education (School Psychology) from the University of California, Riverside. She is passionate about advocating for improved access to education and advancing education leadership. Brittany's research looks at the preparedness of school psychologists and special education teachers to incorporate sociocultural factors, specifically socioeconomic (SES), into the middle-to-high school transition processes for students with disabilities. Brittany serves on the School Psychology Review Student Editorial Board and also works as a Graduate Student Assistant for the Teacher Education Program at UCR. Outside of school, Brittany enjoys doing ceramics, cooking, and volunteering.

Vivian Nguyen is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Education and Biology from the University of California, Irvine. She is passionate about supporting underrepresented and underserved populations in the public school system and aims to build protective factors for these students based on their diverse backgrounds and experiences. Her research interests include advancing culturally responsive social-emotional learning programs and expanding school connectedness to increase minority student belonging and engagement. Vivian serves as the Vice President for the UCR chapter of the Student Affiliates of School Psychology (SASP). In her free time, Vivian enjoys swimming, cooking, reading, listening to music, and being in nature.

Marcia Gonzalez is a first-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Specialization in Human Health and a Minor in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She is passionate about supporting underrepresented families and providing them with information to aid their students during K-12. Her research interests include facilitating access to social-emotional learning programs and building a stronger community between families and schools.
