Hi and welcome to my website!

I'm an Assistant Professor of Geophysics at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI), University of Memphis and my work focuses on the evolution of the earthquake cycle. Through my work I'm trying to understand the prevailing factors that control the accumulation, release, and restoration of tectonic stresses throughout the seismic cycle. I call these factors “mechanical regulators” of the earthquake cycle and my goal is to breakdown this complex sequence of events and deformation styles into single mechanical constituents that are easier to analyse and understand. To do that I combine numerical models with a broad spectrum of geophysical information, such us tectonic deformation maps measured by Global Positioning System (GPS) and Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR), seismic tomography, and other geological data. I'm also interested in outreach and education technology. More specifically, I'm exploring new ways to do outreach using cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality. Starting July 2019, I'm the University of Memphis representative at the Board of Directors of the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC).
