There are many resources out there but how do you know they are reliable? Be sure to follow the tips in the video to help you determine if a source is reliable.
Many of the resources linked through NCWiseOwl offer citations with each article, but why is citing sources important? And more importantly, what do I do if I have to write my own citations?
If you use more than 2 words verbatim, word for word, from a text
If you are introducing facts that you found in a different source
When paraphrasing
When stating something that is not common knowledge
Every time you incorporate research, words, ideas, data, or information that is not your own
Ask yourself..."Did this information come from someone else?"...if you answer "yes," then cite it.
