Dear potential sponsors and community members,
The Central Academy of Technology & Arts (CATA) is a magnet high school in Monroe, NC that serves approximately 800 students in ninth through twelfth grade. CATA incorporates rigorous academic and technical education using an innovative academy concept. We have a 100% graduation rate and are proud to prepare our students to compete in a global society while maintaining a nurturing environment that emphasizes experiential learning, relevant internships, community involvement, and technical, artistic, and academic integration.
One of the most respected and successful programs at CATA is our Band Program. Our band offers several opportunities for students to pursue their musical ambitions from symphonic, jazz, marching and chamber programs to color guard, winter guard and participating in the spring musical pit orchestra.. Some of our musical accolades includes:
The Blumey Awards for Musical Theatre “Best Student Orchestra” - 2016, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026
Consistent Superior Ratings at the Grade V and VI level at the State’s Music Performance Adjudication
Grand Champions in all captions,1st and 2nd Place in the captions of Music, General Effect, Visual Performance Marching, Color Guard, Percussion, Drum major and overall placement in regional marching competitions
We are one of the most creative and respected band programs in the area that has garnered a reputation attracting talented students from all over the county. However, our rapid growth has come with growing pains leaving some of our basic needs still unmet. We are reaching out to businesses and leaders within the community to ask for financial support as we strive to provide a quality music education experience for all of our students. Goals for this year include acquiring financial sponsorship to provide
the following needs for our band:
Purchase new percussion drumline, color guard and wind/brass equipment, Instrument repair and maintenance of current equipment
We enjoy serving our community and depend on our community members to show their appreciation and support in return. Things to consider:
Our band trailers are some of the most visible pieces of equipment on the road going to our regional marching competitions. You could be seen by hundreds and thousands of individuals throughout the event.
We have hundreds of spectators at home soccer events and can see your business almost every Thursday evening.
There are between 500-800 people in the audience at all band concerts. This is an excellent opportunity for advertising.
We are a County wide school not a community. You have a wider audience and more opportunities to promote.
