Join us for the 4th annual Faculty Senate Teaching and Research Conference. This collaborative, faculty- and staff-led event celebrates the innovative, scholarly, and student-centered work taking place across UCM. This year’s theme—"Innovate to Educate: Bold Ideas for Scholarship and Pedagogy"—encourages creative and research-informed approaches to teaching and academic work. This theme celebrates the intersection of scholarly inquiry and meaningful student learning. It highlights how faculty and staff integrate research and pedagogy to foster deeper engagement, curiosity, and learner success.
The highlights of this special, one day event include:
Keynote session (tentative): Michael Turner, Lecturer at the University of Missouri Kansas City, will bring thoughts on computer assisted language learning and AI educational integration.
Concurrent sessions on Innovative Teaching Strategies, Pedagogy-Informed Scholarship, Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Teaching Practices, and Technology-Enhanced Teaching.

Faculty can enter to win a professional development prize at every session. The more sessions attended, the more chances to win! Drawings will be held at the lunch and closing events.
Michael currently works at the University of Missouri Kansas City. His professional interests include interlanguage phonology and computer assisted language learning.
