Dr. Xiana Sotelo (She/Her) is a professor in the English Studies department- School of Philology- in Complutense University of Madrid.

Her main lines of research are: Cultural and Literary Studies in English-speaking countries, Gender-Women´s Studies (Intersectionality and intercultural dialogues); Transmedia narratives; Eco-Criticism, Eco-Feminism; Critical thinking and RRI-Responsible Research and Innovation in the Humanities.
Within the SIIM-UCM research group -Studies on Intermediality and Intercultural Mediation- she is coordinator of the area of gender, interculturality and social innovation.
In the teaching and assessment of critical thinking skills, she has coordinated the SIIM-UFV innovation projects:

Lecturer of General English, English for Specific Purposes and English Phonetics and Phonology at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Madrid, where he is also an Instituto Cervantes DELE examiner.
An avid language learner speaking six languages. His research interests include phonetics and phonology, ELF, comparative syntax (Differential Object Marking) and critical thinking in language teaching.
He holds an MA degree in Modern Languages (Spanish) from the Jagiellonian University of Krakow, an MA in Spanish Linguistics from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a post-graduate certificate in linguistics and translation from Universidad Oberta de Catalunya.
Currently pursuing a PhD degree in English Linguistics at the Complutense University of Madrid working on the international intelligibility of Spanish university students enrolled on bilingual programmes.
