ALBERTO holds a Ph.D. in Political Science, Administration, and International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid, graduating with an Outstanding Dissertation Award. He has a Master's degree in International Politics and another in Development and International Aid; he also holds a B.A. in Political Science and Administration from the same university and a B.A. in International Sciences and European Institutions from the University of Milan. He is a researcher at the Complutense Institute of International Studies. He has been recognized as a Senior Researcher by the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation and as a Peer Reviewer for the National Accreditation Council (CNA). For over seven years, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Government and International Relations at Santo Tomás University. Professionally, he has served as the Director of Government and Territorial Management for the Colombian Ministry of the Interior, Ad-Hoc Governor of Santander, and as an advisor to the National Army and the Office of the Inspector General, among other roles. He has extensive experience as a professor at various universities in Latin America and Spain. His career has been recognized with several distinctions, notably including the Best Dean Award (2017), the 'Faith in the Cause' Medal (2018), the José María Córdova Medal (2018), and his selection for the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2021.

ALBERTO es Doctor en Ciencias Políticas, de la Administración y Relaciones Internacionales por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, con Premio Extraordinario. Posee un Máster en Política Internacional y otro en Desarrollo y Ayuda Internacional; es Licenciado en Ciencia Política y de la Administración por la misma universidad y Dottore in Scienze Internazionali e Istituzioni Europee por la Università degli Studi di Milano. Investigador del Instituto Complutense de Estudios Internacionales. Ha sido reconocido como Investigador Senior por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación de Colombia y Par Evaluador del Consejo Nacional de Acreditación (CNA). Durante más de siete años. fue Decano de la Facultad de Gobierno y Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Santo Tomás. En el ámbito profesional, ha ejercido como Director de Gobierno y Gestión Territorial del Ministerio del Interior de Colombia, Gobernador Ad-Hoc de Santander y asesor del Ejército Nacional y de la Procuraduría General de la Nación, entre otros. Cuenta con una amplia experiencia como profesor en distintas universidades de Latinoamérica y España. Su trayectoria ha sido reconocida con varias distinciones, entre las que destacan el Premio al Mejor Decano (2017), la Medalla Fe en la Causa (2018), la Medalla José María Córdova (2018) y su selección para el Programa de Liderazgo para Visitantes Internacionales (IVLP) del Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. (2021).
