The 9th European Nanomanipulation Workshop

The Conference will have place in La Cristalera (web), sited in Miraflores de la Sierra, a small town in the mountains, close to Madrid.

Miraflores de la Sierra is a town in the northern area of Madrid. With six thousand inhabitants, it is located 49 kilometers away from Madrid. Located in a privileged enclave, of outstanding natural and ecological value, Miraflores de la Sierra is part of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. 

La Cristalera (Housing and Workshop Venue) is a Conference Center of the Autonomous University of Madrid for the development of meetings, conferences, summer courses and cultural activities. At the facility we will provide meals (included in the conference fee) and accommodation for the workshop attendees. At the facility there are several gardens areas and a swimming pool.

Conference Bus Service

A bus service will be provided with the following itinerary and schedule:

• Sun 16/Jun: Atocha train station (18:30h) --> Madrid Airport (19:00h) --> La Cristalera (venue)

• Wed 19/Jun: La Cristalera        (14:00h) --> Madrid Airport (15:00h) --> Atocha train station (15:30h)

The bus will carry a sign with the name of the conference in the front shield.

Taxi

There are various taxi companies, either those based at Atocha Station or the Airport, taxi companies operating in Madrid, or via an app. Some options for booking a taxi are:

The average price of a taxi from the airport to La Cristalera or vice versa is €70 - €100 with a maximum capacity of 3-4 passengers, depending on the company.

Public Transport

To reach Miraflores de la Sierra by public transportation from the airport, you need to follow this route. Head to the nearest Metro station. If you arrive at Terminal 4, the nearest Metro station is Aeropuerto T4 on Line 8, and you will take the metro towards Nuevos Ministerios. If you arrive at Terminals 1 or 2, the nearest Metro station is Aeropuerto T1 - T2 - T3 on Line 8, and you will take the metro towards Nuevos Ministerios. Here is the location of the Aeropuerto T1 - T2 - T3 metro station: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xXC87Dnp9YfXTC6J9 

You will get off at Nuevos Ministerios station and transfer to Line 10, taking the train towards Hospital Infanta Sofía. Get off at Plaza de Castilla station. At Plaza de Castilla station, exit the Metro and head to the bus stop just outside the station. At the bus stop, take Bus 725 Madrid (Plaza Castilla) - Miraflores - Bustarviejo - Valdemanco. This bus will take you to the Miraflores De La Sierra - Centro Social stop. From there, you will need to take a taxi to La Cristalera, located about 2 km from Miraflores de la Sierra. If you arrive at Atocha Station, take Metro Line 1 towards Pinar De Chamartin. This metro line goes directly to Plaza de Castilla station, where you will get off and follow the previously explained route.

To return to the airport or Atocha Station by public transportation from La Cristalera, follow the same route in reverse.
