Over the past 26 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from Kindergarten through eighth grade in a wide variety of settings—from a suburban therapeutic day school and Chicago Public Schools to my most recent role as a first-grade assistant teacher here at Lab.

After earning my undergraduate degree from Bradley University, I began my teaching career in special education, where I developed a strong foundation in meeting the diverse needs of students. My passion for science eventually led me to complete the University of Chicago’s SESAME program, earning endorsements in general science and secondary education. This opened the door for me to teach fifth- and sixth-grade science, where I enjoyed sparking curiosity and helping students discover the excitement of learning. As a lifelong learner, I have always looked for ways to grow personally and professionally. Most recently, I earned a master’s degree in literacy, which brought a fresh perspective to my teaching and gave me new ways to support students across all subject areas.

Lab is also very much a family affair for me! I’m the proud parent of a current Labbie and a recent Lab graduate, and my spouse is a member of the Middle School faculty.

I’m thrilled to bring my experiences—and my love of science—into the fourth-grade classroom this year. I can’t wait to learn, explore, ask lots of questions, and make discoveries alongside your children!
