I was born in Guilin, Guangxi, one of the most beautiful and unique tourist cities in China, as shown in the picture above. 

Many people asked me: do you speak Guangxi dialect? In fact, there isn't one dialect that is called Guangxi dialect. Many dialects are spoken in different parts of the province, and they are drastically different. For instance, people in Nanning speak a dialect that is very similar to Cantonese, whereas people in Guilin speak a dialect that belongs to Southwestern Mandarin (西南官话). Sichuan dialect also belongs to this group. My Guilin dialect is very rough because I grew up speaking Mandarin, but I know enough to bargain like a local when shopping.
