Before Humanities Core, the idea of creating a website from scratch was fairly foreign and admittedly intimidating. I was nervous at first about constructing a cohesive, organized, and engaging website, but once I started outlining and choosing a theme, it all came together smoothly. I took inspiration from Renaissance art pieces for my theme and attempted to establish an almost ethereal feel, while also keeping everything clean and easy to browse through. I tried to keep a consistent color scheme of tan, brown, and white, with the occasional pop of color to ensure that the pages were cohesive. For each activity, I focused on fully utilizing different modes of media, including various images and videos in order to keep my audience engaged and not overwhelmed with text. I definitely had the most fun with the second activity on A Midsummer Night's Dream, because I got to integrate what I am passionate about (figure skating) into what I was learning about in school, all while challenge myself creatively. My intended audience was my classmates and my seminar instructor, who have all explored the various texts and topics throughout the quarter with me. I aimed to present a fresh perspective and expand upon what we learned in lecture and discussed in seminar, as I am aware that my audience is already familiar with the texts I am referencing. Generally, I adopted a scholarly tone, but I also attempted to be more personal with my audience, incorporating elements of my life and my hobbies. As for next quarter, I don't believe I would change much, as I think that my approach to this quarter's activities were effective and valuable to my comprehension of the course.
