About Mary B. Lindblom
Mary B. Lindblom was born in 1949 to middle-class white parents. Born and raised in Riverside, California, Lindblom attended Robidoux High School. A Californian at heart, she represented her hometown, Riverside, at the 1977 NWC. Lindblom moved to and lived in various parts of California, both northern and southern, before settling in Southern California. In 1982, she married Oliver G. Stinson. Following their marriage, Lindblom became business partners with her husband's relatives. She worked as chief executive officer of Dog Show Specialties Incorporation, a company that specialized in dog show products and preparation. The store was located in Lytle Creek, California, and operated until 2009.
Feminist Activism
During the late 1970s, Lindblom was a Co-Coordinator of the Riverside National Organization for Women chapter. Lindblom's decision to join the Riverside/San Bernardino Chapter was likely inspired after witnessing the obstacles women faced, especially low-income and minority women.
Through her involvement in the League of Women Voters, Lindblom demonstrated a passion for women's ability to practice their right to vote. The non-partisan women's organization is devoted to informing and assisting women voters, especially first-time voters.
Lindblom was also part of the Battered Women Taskforce, an organization created to assist women victims of domestic abuse.
