Additional Resources

Transcriptions of jazz solos are common, and there are countless Charlie Parker, Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans solos all over YouTube. These videos allow for the audience to engage with and discover musicians, can be a valuable learning resource, and add to the tradition of players learning how to learn from the past, while simultaneously exposing great jazz musicians and allowing them to be more accessible. Geri Allen alarmingly only has 4 transcriptions that are notably available despite her large discography and countless solo's waiting to be transcribed.
