Before coming to the US to join the Economics PhD program at UCI I worked as a part-time Lecturer teaching an Introduction to Economics course at the Civil Engineering School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile for three semesters as well as both Microeconomics and Finance courses at the Engineering School of the Universidad Diego Portales for more than two years.
As a PhD student at UCI I received the Outstanding Teacher Assistant Award, for my recurrent work in the large intermediate macro class thought by Prof. Guillaume Rocheteau. Enrollment in this class is close to 300 students, and it consider a demanding undergrad class, which is based on Chad Jones’s macroeconomics textbook to which more advanced models are added such as a simplified version of the Mortensen-Pissarides model.
I participated in UCI's California Community College Internship Program (CCCIP) at the Santa Ana Community College in Orange County which is a year-long program that provides graduate students interested in teaching the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a community college setting.
I enrolled in the Summer Teaching Apprenticeship Program (STAP) which requires Fellows to identify a Faculty Mentor (Prof. Bill Branch in my case) who provides guidance and support with course design and development for graduate students working as instructors during Summer Sessions.
