Part of the worldwide May 12 initiative, this event aims to promote inclusivity and celebrate the many accomplishments of women in the mathematical sciences. A joyful celebration of women in mathematics across career stages, build new connections, and share encouragement in a welcoming mathematical community.

Collaborations with our fellows from the physic department, Come decorate a hair clip or bring your own item to bedazzle and make something totally your own. We'll have pizza, good vibes, and even better company. Whether you're a craft pro or a total beginner, all are welcome!

A Craft Night Social on January 26th from 4:00–5:30 PM in Rowland Hall 410! AWM is a program of undergraduate and graduate math students that hosts events to help build the UCI math community. This is a great opportunity for math enthusiasts to connect, unwind, and build relationships while personalizing a charm bracelet and enjoying boba. We know that studying math can be challenging and that meeting fellow math students doesn’t always come easily, so we hope this social provides a relaxed space to make new friends and build connections.

Our annual event for incoming grad students week 0 for the math department, where we serve out grilled dinners, refreshing drinks, and get the chance to meet advisors with UC Irvine department as well as meeting fellow grad fellows. 

The UCI Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is excited to host its annual Back-to-School BBQ by the Pool!  As we step into a new academic year, this gathering provides math graduate students with the opportunity to reconnect with one another, meet new department members, and enjoy a relaxed evening in good company.

We will provide light refreshments and grills at the venue to make the evening more enjoyable. The event is open to people of all genders, and we warmly encourage you to join us.
