FAQ

Do I need prior experience to join?

We pride ourselves as one of the only UCI engineering projects that is open to everyone, no matter their experience. Members will first go through training developing their first 1lb or 3lb battlebot in Fall and can continue improving their robot or joining the 12lb/30lb projects the following quarter.

Are there fees?

There are no requirement fees to join ACE. The only fees that will be charged are the materials needed to make your robot. Fees are split among team members. Teams are usually 2-3 people per.

Does ACE offer class credits?

ACE is currently in the works of turning our larger 12lb and 30lb projects into a design project. However, stay tuned in the Winter quarter as our plans will be more finalized!

How much time do I need to commit to the club?

ACE members will be expected to commit at least 4 hours per week in ACE related activities and events. Though not required, developing a battlebot takes time, so it will be best to spend as much time with your robot as you can to see it succeed at competitions!
