In this session of Creating Comics and Poetry for Amplifying Your Voice, we will explore these two modalities as ways to provide participants with tools to creatively express how social justice plays a role in their lives. We will provide participants with brief step-by-step instructions through the creation process of comics and poetry. All levels of drawing and writing experiences are welcome. We hope that you will find this a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable process of storytelling as a way to complement your quest for social justice.
Materials suggested: index cards, pen/pencil (these materials will be provided for in person attendees). All attendees should bring an actual small object or image that attracts your attention or speaks to you about a social justice issue, a talisman of sorts that holds meaning for you, (e.g. a photo, a flag, a rock or anything that reminds you of what’s important to your quest for social justice)
