The Arc and associated Studies

This site features art created during my first quarter of the DoVA MFA program. Works were installed for critique December 6, 2021 for the purpose of in-process feedback, pushing and pulling visual strategies and evolving themes within my practice. Additionally, I sought to invite references and resources for this new and developing body of objects, encaustic paintings and video-- especially around its core themes of materiality, embodied experience, diasporic dance movement and the presence and resourcefulness of Black women through time. All works are untitled, with the exception of the suspended sculpture and its related video which together are called Arc. Thank you for viewing my work-in-progress.
