Staff Development Day is open exclusively to Union staff.
Yes. The Union contract (Article 44.0 — Staff Development) provides for a staff development program that includes professional training, leadership development, and workshops to enhance job-related skills. Staff Development Day is a step toward fulfilling this commitment by creating dedicated time for Union staff to learn, connect, and grow together.
It isn’t — and we know that. Staff Development Day is just one step toward what should be a more robust and ongoing commitment to staff learning and growth. While one day can’t meet all professional development needs, it provides valuable time for Union staff to step away from daily responsibilities, connect with colleagues, and focus on skill-building and wellness. We hope to continue building on this foundation in the future.
