Creating and Using a Fake Student Account

It is very helpful to be able to see what everything will look like to a student (especially a student who is limited to accessing content with a smartphone)

You can also use this to create a backup recording of your Zoom meetings

Instructions:

1. If you don’t already have one, create an email account on gmail (or similar)

2. Invite that account to your Canvas course (People > +People)

3. Check the account for an invitation

4. IMPORTANT: When you log in to Canvas with that account, use Guest Log In rather than UCD Log In

5. Install the Canvas Student account on a smartphone and log in with this account so you can see the student view

6. Use that same email to create a Zoom account on both your computer and the Zoom smartphone app
