PLS 021 - UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences
Unlike many traditional classes offered at UC Davis, PLS 021 is unique in that it is taught and designed almost entirely by graduate students. Through this program, students are able to gain hands-on experience with intermediate computer skills that are essential to the professional workplace.
PLS 021 offers the opportunity for undergraduate students to serve as course interns and assist in executing our labs each quarter. Student interns receive 3 units for their time and dedication to our course!
Our PLS 021 team is committed to helping other undergraduate students grow as young professionals through quality instruction. We strive to achieve this goal by preparing weekly lesson plans, strictly enforcing our university's academic policies, and continuously seeking out opportunities to improve our existing program in ways that address students' changing needs.
Our weekly computer labs are an excellent way for students to develop strong proficiency in a wide range of software skills found in modern-day work environments.
Our Interns collectively assist in the instruction of over 400 undergraduate students in the following programs:
Gmail + Google Drive
Google Sites
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
R Studio
Databases (Airtable)
In Office Hours, Interns work to dynamically address student questions and concerns with a team of fellow interns and TAs.
