Happy Little Dinosaur is a competitive card game meant for up to 4 players of the age eight or above. In this game the player's goal is to either be the last one alive or be the first one to score 50 points. There are four boards you can pick from, and each board either adds or decreases a point in your turn depending on which disaster cards you have on your board. There are 4 types of disaster cards: 3 of them are typical kinds of disasters, and then the remaining one - the meteor disaster - is a much more devastating disaster. If you have one of each of the typical disasters, or 3 of one kind, you die. And if a meteor is involved, you die once you get a total of 3 disasters, regardless of what kind they are. All players start off with five cards in their hands and if they have no cards with a point value (meaning if they only have action cards in their hand) then they would have to discard their whole hand and draw five new cards until they have cards with a point value. To begin the game you would first flip over a disaster card and then have everyone place a card face down. Then flip them over together. Now after that happens, players can play action cards in their hand that will either add points to their own card or subtract points from another player. Whoever ends up with the lowest points after that has a chance to play an action card if they want to; if not, they would take the disaster card. Finally, whatever point value you have at the end of the round, you would move that many points on the board and add one or subtract one depending on what disaster you had on your disaster zone. To begin the next turn, everyone draws a card until they have five cards in their hand, and they must have at least one point value card in their hand. Then they flip over a disaster card again and continue the process until everyone dies or someone earns 50 points.
