Up4it & Nutrition to Grow On
UP4it Level 1 This curriculum was designed and written for fourth and fifth grade youth. UP4it targets four key areas correlated to weight gain in youth: sleep, foods, beverages, and physical activity. The UP4it activity guides utilize youth development principles that engage youth in learning through problem-solving, teamwork, and 21st century skills (such as critical thinking, initiative, and social skills). Materials align with Common Core State Standards.
Teachers: Printed and digital workbooks are available for student use. Talk to your local Nutrition Educator to learn more.
Nutrition To Grow On. Nine lessons are designed to teach children and their families about nutrition by relating each lesson to a garden activity. The curriculum uses the garden to integrate disciplines, including science, mathematics, language arts, history, environmental studies, nutrition, and health, while reinforcing some of the California academic content standards.
